Johns Creek Beautification is pleased to announce the 3rd Secret Garden Tour of the Johns Creek Community! Purchase your passes now for this unique and delightful event which allows visitors to explore the secret gardens of private homes in our community. As with past garden tours, there will be talented musicians and artists for visitors' enjoyment and each home will have a master gardener present to answer your plant-related questions.
Secret Gardens is a drive-yourself and walking tour of seven homes and the Autrey Mill Nature Preserve (AMNP). Each stop has its own special and charming features that include: a beautiful hillside oasis and beehive fireplace; a woodland garden with a hand-made stone bridge; an iris garden; a creek-side garden; a gated, gazebo garden; and so much more. Autrey Mill Nature Preserve is home to splendid woodland and butterfly gardens plus a Visitors’ Center, Farm Museum, The Summerour House, Warsaw Church, Green Country Store, and Tenant Farmhouse. When you order your passes, make sure to pre-order a boxed lunch to pick up and enjoy at AMNP.
Sounds crowded, but fear not, there will be plenty of breathing room to stay socially distanced.
Participants inherently start from different places and, because there is no set order to visit tour sites, traffic is evenly distributed at each stop. In addition to greeting and directing the flow of guests in each garden, volunteers will pace the number of visitors through each site to encourage breathing room and space to enjoy the surroundings. The garden tour will follow current safety recommendations for masks and social distancing.
All proceeds from this event supports the work of Johns Creek Beautification and will be specifically earmarked toward the purchase of public art for the city, landscape beautification projects throughout Johns Creek, and to benefit a massive citywide, daffodil planting effort to raise awareness of cancer survivorship through JCB’s partnership with CanCare.
